6451 Basement

This marked the transformation of our basement at 6451. With the arrival of our first child, we found ourselves in need of more space. To extend our time in a cost-effective mortgage, we decided to remodel the lower level.

In the initial four weeks, I dedicated my efforts to demolishing the basement slab. This not only allowed for plumbing upgrades but also provided an opportunity to dig an additional twelve inches, increasing the ceiling height. In those days when finances were tight, I found myself doing all the work personally—crazy things you do when funds are limited.

The revamped space evolved into a haven for our daughter, filled with her growing collection of toys and a cozy spot for watching her favorite movies. It also became a cherished family space, where we spent many nights together enjoying our favorite TV shows.
